Blue Mardi Gras - NOLA

Word of the day:  quintessence \kwin-TESS-unss\ noun:  1 : the fifth and highest element in ancient and medieval philosophy that permeates all nature and is the substance composing the celestial bodies.  *2 : the essence of a thing in its purest and most concentrated form.  3 : the most typical example or representative.

I have to give credit where credit is due to the residents of New Orleans and the tourists who extended their support to make this year's Mardi Gras as good as it could be in the wake of last years hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  In my mind the use of the blue tarps covering roofs of homes damaged by the hurricanes was a very creative idea and represented a powerful strength the residents have to incorporate them into their Mardi Gras 2006.

I find the blue to be beautiful..
